Ontop Barcelona’s owner Marta Martínez is a true entrepreneur. As a fashion expert, she had been dreaming about creating this concept of a store for a long time. She wanted to reach an almost unexplored market niche.
She had always had a special interest in head accessories, so she decided to embark on her own project.
Marta had been working in the fashion industry for many years with brands such as Levi’s, Antoni Miró, Nice Things and Mango. Then she decided to start her own business after all those years of experience.
And all said and done. After leaving her managing position in Mango, Marta partnered with some friends, who recognized the great opportunity represented by this project. It was then when they created “Depende IV”, Ontop Barcelona’s parent company.
After two months they already had a first point of sale, a Pop-up Store in Passeig de Gràcia.
MISSION: “Dress every head in the world”
Ontop Barcelona features different collections of products around the concept of head dressing designs. Following ancient trends, the brand tries to reintroduce the passion for dressing heads.
These collections respond to chic concepts and many versatile situations, and achieve distinctive traits in many different looks.
All products arise from the need of every woman to feel feminine and beautiful and they are presented through a novel store concept of in which the staff assumes an important role.
Zero kilometre philosophy
We like to work with the idea of designing and producing on a the basis of proximity. From the beginning, we chose to design and manufacture our products in Spain and France – we just wanted and needed to be near our providers – Only one collection comes from India.
